Has anyone thought about adding some kind of MQTT support to Synchronet? Maybe echicken? :)
Has anyone thought about adding some kind of MQTT support toGuess who doesn't read the documentation before asking a question...
Synchronet? Maybe echicken? :)
My thinking was for interfacing with meshtastic, so maybe just email
or interbbs messaging. Regular messages might often be too big. I
suppose email would be, too, with quoting and such.

MQTT supported was one of the big features added in v3.20 in January of this year.

Holy heck. I guess I do remember reading that in the changelogs -
that is so cool, DM... I really wish I would have stuck with Sync and
just customized it so much that it looked like my own.
After learning more about Sync, I realize that even the [small]
things I didn't like were likely able to customize out. [Simply like
the 'this is a Synchronet BBS' login stuff...]
Thank you for continuing to develop the most advanced BBS software
there ever was.

Or, last year, even? ;-)

The first official release with MQTT support was this year. The
previous release (v3.19) did not support MQTT.

This is my node-red control panel for synchronet using mqtt.

I use text to speech to announce when a new user account is created,
but not between 11pm and 7am.

Hello,
I've setup MQTT on Linux and was wondering if there was any
documentation on how to set this up? I can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks!!

A few of us spent a lot of time adding to the Wiki for MQTT. Gamgee posted elsewhere the links, but there's also a rought outline of how to use SSL on > personal page on the synchronet wiki, just search for mqtt (which would have given you what you need in the first place) and you'll find how to do it i > you desire to do so.
