I'm a fan of Christian music.

When the left began to oppose Trump, I began to notice that most musicians are reptilian pricks. Not Christian musicians though. They don't trash Trump because they've got better things to do.

How could anyone bang their head or tap their feet to music that's made by people who endorse 3000 deaths at the US-Mexico border or those who stand up for the rights of criminals?

I love Christian music. It's very deep (the good songs anyway) and I admire these musicians who devote their talents to just praise God, knowing that
they're less likely to make as much money or to attend freak offs with Obama and Diddy.

I thought religion normally involves a belief in God and going to church, etc.. Atheism has neither of those. I've never seen an atheist church or any such thing where athiests meet regularly to discuss their atheism.

it's not my cup of tea but at my old job we would rotate who wanted what on the radio and this one guy had some good christian music.

i just think that people are programmed to hate christianity and everything about it so they are done unless they have a huge pr campaign.

I didn't see a poll here. I think you'll find a good number of people
who believe in spirituality, of an essence that ties us together, but
have given up on organized religion.

It becomes harder to reconcile the actions of churches with the
intentions of the religion.

Not sure where you get your information from, but atheism is the lack
of belief in a god. If you understand your greek roots, you'd know.

Genesis 3:5 reads more like Satan telling Eve she can know good and
evil, "like a god" - not that she could ascend to deity. Depends on
your translation.

If we're going to be interpreting the Bible literally here, we're going
to be in for some fun times.

I think organized skepticism gets very close to that. And yes, organized skepticism is a thing. I am actually very suspicious about organized skepticism because it seems like biased skepticism to me: they are super skeptic about tablets writen in the Bronze Age but will eat anything in yesterday's newspaper as long as they like it.

You're right and I see that in people too. Some don't want there to be a God because they're scared of him, so they're trying to wish him away. Others are
sheep taking a cue from the media. And another sub-group of non-believers are just too smug and set in their selfish ways to consider the concept of morality.

Christianity has churches and a belief in God. Not all religions do.

Well, I guess in a loose sense you could equate other places to gather
as 'church.'

I see atheism as a religion in the sense that it believes in a
higher TRUTH. To an atheist, the higher truth is that there is
no God. It's not the absence of a belief, but the belief in the
LACK of something. That's still religion, from a certain point
of view...

Which is why I don't like to use the word religion as it applies
to Christianity. Religion is a belief system - a set of rules -
a doctrine to follow. Christianity is the following of Jesus
the Christ - period.

Now churches (denominations) have made it into a religion. I
point people to Jesus, though, and not 'church.'
